Escambia County Overview

Naval Air Station Pensacola, located in Escambia County, is home to the world-famous Blue Angels precision flight team. NAS Pensacola, recognized as a premier naval installation in the Department of the Navy, is primarily dedicated to the training of Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard personnel in naval aviation.

Pensacola International Airport, CSX rail, Interstates 110 and 10, and the Port of Pensacola—which serves as a foreign trade zone—provide Century and Escambia County with an efficient transportation infrastructure.

The University of West Florida in Pensacola, with enrollment of approximately 12,000 students, offers undergraduate, Masters and Doctorate degrees across a wide spectrum of disciplines, as well as other specialized training. Pensacola State College, which in 2012 opened a Century location, and Pensacola Christian College are also based in Escambia County.

Escambia County is also rich in culture and provides residents and visitors with Double A baseball, hockey and musical venues that attract everyone from Alan Jackson and Sheryl Crow to Lil Kim, the Gills and Dash Rip Rock. Additionally, Pensacola has a ballet, opera, theater, symphony and endless art and history museums typically found in much larger cities.
